Views around 01/15/2014
I began the night just sitting around as I usually do. The night was still fairly young, well that is in my view. There was still several people in the large room staring at their devices whether it be a laptop or a cell phone. Some were quickly glancing at the other person directly across from them but continued to hold the conversation true to the device in front.
I followed the herd and conducted the same behavior but deviated from my device as much as possible because it was prime people watching time. It is a hobby that I feel almost compelled to do, no matter what. It's the main thing I do for my job, but people watching on my own time is even better.
As the night grew older and the time rolled to a new day, the groups of people began to disappear. An hour into the new day there was only 11 people in the room. This I felt as the most advantageous time simply for the fact I could spend much more time observing. It felt as if I was a scientist watching the behavior of rats. Yet it was something much more complex.
To the left of me were two men who were here before my arrival. The one on the east side of the table was so indulged in his device that it seemed like he never looked away from it. I am not sure if he was concentrating on some kind of project or he was doing whatever he could do to escape the present reality around him.
The male directly in front of him was similar, but had other reasons. Shortly after I had sat down at my table he was doing face to face chat with a female who I could only guess was his girlfriend due to the fact he was smiling very frequently and talked softly unless he was excited about something. Through my experience, that is how most people talk to their immediate other. Once he was done communicating with the female on his phone, he began to divulge into his laptop. Unlike the other male though, he did look up fairly often and even more so when a Caucasian female wearing a tank top with a certain stature walked in demanded his immediate attention. He was very willing to give that attention and also made sure his friend issued the same respect by telling him.
The two continued the same behavior through out the night until the laptop gazer said good night and departed the table leaving his "bud" behind with a fist bump.
Another group who had come in several minutes after I had parked themselves to the north of building. The immediately got food and began to talk the night away. I tried to listen to the conversation at times, but the words seemed so random to me that it almost seemed that they had to be talking about a video game. I am sure this is not the fact but for me I am going to believe this to be so.
The last group, the one that included the Caucasian female that I spoke of earlier, seemed to be the most intriguing to me. It also helped that they sat at the southwest corner of the building with easy eyesight. It was even more helpful that they sat directly underneath the TV which gave me free glances that they would never see.
As I stated earlier the female was wearing certain clothing that would gain the attention of any male in the immediate area. She wore blue jeans that seemed to have grown on her actual skin. The tank top, black in color and with what appeared to be flowers on the chest area, seemed to be a few sizes to small due to the stature of her female antonym. I am fairly certain that was done on purpose as I so graceful assumed earlier. As she sat at the selected table she looked around the room several times and then continued to speak to the male that was also in her group. As she sat at the table she began to place makeup, on top of the make up post body enhancements she already had on. As she spoke to the male she was very expressive with facial expressions and hands.
The male brought on another odd aspect to the group. His height couldn't have been more than 5 foot 5 inches. probably weighing around 110. A very small stature and his body movement also showed that he was nervous about the way he was appearing. The way he was dressed was also odd to me. He wore very baggy pants and seemed like he was trying to give the persona that he was "a thuger". His shirt and hat selection made hi appear that he was basically an "un-grouped person". Very normal clothing in other words. For the longest time I was trying to figure out what the couple's status was, rather if they were single or together.
For the longest time there was absolutely no indication that the two were an items, but shortly after I noticed that the male showed some form of relationship by rubbing her back. The male also awaited her return when she went out to the vehicle like a lost kid or puppy dog. In better terms was always looking up towards the front door as if the female was late for her arrival.
I also forgot to mention when the two walked in the were hauling several bags, which in my profession means suspicious behavior for sure.
As far as the viewings go, I found it most interesting to watch groups due to the fact there is some form of interaction between the two or parties involved.
